As time rolls on in a stagnant or poor relationship, occasionally you will come to an epiphany. You will have a moment when the fog clears from your mind and you will see the end of the road.
Of course you don't want to see it, but it's there- it's unavoidable. It's like the Big Man himself came down and said, "Let It Go".
But, what will you do? You'll hold on. You'll hold on in the hopes that things will change. You hope that maybe he will finally get the Big Picture. But, he never will and so now you know, it's time to let him go.

That's just a fact of relationships, they don't always work out how we plan. It won't even matter how much time you put in, it could be weeks, years or even months, sometimes there's just no saving it.
I mean you cut back your hours at work and even stopped hanging out with your girls on the weekends, but sadly there's no change. He's still doing the same shit you asked him not to do and this is even after you've changed your ways.
There's only so much you can give one person before you know it's time to throw in the towel and unfortunately, it looks like that time is now. But there's no need in crying about it. I mean...

Let That Baggage Go!
Wipe the slate clean and move on with life. There's more to life than just him and the memories you two have together.
Of course it's easier said than done, but it you're going to get out of this thing alive, it's what you need to do. Life will continue to pass you by, if your still stuck standing on the side of the road.. waiting for for him to change.
You either have to get a new car or thumb a ride and if that doesn't work- start walking. Walk until you can't walk anymore or at least until you find a new relationship to carry you through the rest of your journey. In all honesty...

It's when someone jumps into a relationship right after the last one ended and then they put all those emotions they had for someone else onto someone else. It's a recipe for disaster and more heartache down the road- every time.
