Of course it matters..lol Why wouldn't it? Don't you give a different response when someone calls your phone versus when someone texts you?
You see that's one of the obstacles we now have to deal with in this age of dating and technology.
There are so many different methods of communication to choose from that we easily forget that the most effective method of communication outside of in person contact is... Well, let me explain...

When You Text Someone...
What you're actually doing is giving them a small portion of your attention. You're not giving them the whole enchilada and I can understand why you do it because I've done it too..lol So this is not an attack on chronic texters, but just some insight on the act's impact.
When we text someone, we are capable of running multiple conversations, watching Netflix and even being on another date. This is possible because a text is simply a non-intrusive message that you send to someone's phone which provides a few words and/or a picture that doesn't require an immediate response.
So knowing that, as we all do. Texting someone is not something you do if you want someone to think, feel or act like they are on the top of your list. Texting is something we often do, when we're "too busy", "doing something else more important" or the relationship isn't on that level..just yet.

When You Call Someone...
You are opening the door of communication wider than any text ever could since answering the phone requires an immediate response. Unless they let you drift off into voicemail land..lol
When two people are talking on the phone, little things like the movie playing in the background, the dog barking must all be muted to fully tune into the conversation. Each person must be attentive, ready to respond and fully engaged, unless you enjoy those arguments that occur when people "Half Hear" something.
Nothing worse than a peaceful conversation turning into a full scale war because someone is irritated or distracted by too much noise on the other side of the line.
But imagine for a second, let's just say, that there is no noise. Just you and him, both of you holding the phone and listening to each other's words. Enjoying the light or deep conversation about this and that and just being in the moment.
Wouldn't that be perfect? Knowing that you have someone's complete attention, while at the same time letting them know that they have yours.

Well, What If I Call And Text?
Now nothings wrong with that either, but you just need to know when it's the right time to call and when it's time to text.
You don't want to text your Sweety about your fall down the staircase at work, but you might text him about the asshole in Walmart. Am I right?
Knowing when to text and when to call is something each couple or budding relationship will need to work out in it's own time. But, if you're not sure and in doubt...A call is always the best way to set yourself apart from the 115 notifications in his phone ;)

So What Now?
Well, now the question is are you call him and say "Goodnight" or are you going to text?
