When you think of the word trust, what comes to mind? Feelings? Worry? Concern? Is it just something that people talk about that doesn't actually exist in real relationships? Could trust just be something of a cliche that people use to justify their actions? Well today, we're going to define trust and explore the many ways it affects the health of your relationships. Ready to learn more? Let's go..
What Is Trust?
Trust by definition is simply a confident expectation of something, but in our case, the something will be someone. Think back to the last time babe asked you if you trusted them. Did you? Were you confident that they would make good on their intentions? Or putting the shoe on the other foot, were they positive of how you would behave in a certain situation? Were they right? Were you wrong?
Trusting someone in a relationship is a key component of a happy union and No, you don't have to be married, but a relationship without trust is doomed to fail. Have you ever felt that babe would do you wrong based on past actions? Have you ever hesitated to believe that babe was telling the truth because they have lied before? If you answered yes, then the chances are the trust in your relationship was damaged, if not completely destroyed.
Trust is a tricky thing, it can be strengthened over repeated consistent action or it can be decimated with one thoughtless act. You know what I'm talking about and if you don't, you will at some point. Having trust in your relationship is as important as having air in your lungs, for without it you will die.
