We Met Last Saturday and I Think I'm In Love!

  Hold the phone!  You just met him on Saturday and you're already calling it love?  Now, you're trippin and we can't have none of that going on over here.  Let's reel you back into reality and inform you of the differences between infatuation and a genuine connection with your partner of choice.  

  You see, true love is a beautiful thing, but it doesn't happen overnight and it damn sure didn't happen last Saturday(lol).  Not trying to burst  your bubble, but you need to slow your roll, before you lose your head.  
  Now take a quick walk with me as I open this puppy up...You ready?

  So you think you found Mr. Right huh?  Got yourself a real trophy!  I bet he's Brad Pitt's lost twin or looks just like Denzel's 3rd cousin?  Am I close?  It's the same for you fellas as well, you probably went out and got you a Mila Kunis over the weekend and everything is just gravy. 

 But...Hold your horses!  This is just the infatuation stage.  Nothing more..nothing less.  The real feelings come after you've gotten a chance to know and experience time together with your jaw-dropping catch.  

  Also, the unfortunate truth is your new beau probably looks a little more like our friend here..lol

So What Is infatuation?

  Infatuation by definition is an intense, but short lived passion or admiration for someone or something.  So that little heart palpation you experienced during your hookup was only "temporary" and should not be mistaken for "Love".  I know, I know there are some of you out there that will probably say, "Well, my grandparents fell in love in high school and are still together".  Okay, but you're not your grandparents and this isn't the 1940s.  It's 2014 for crying out loud, Wake Up and smell the asphalt! (lol)

So we're going to do this by splitting things up into two columns.  On the left we'll have several feelings and behaviors that come with infatuation and on the right we'll look at a genuine connection.  Ready?

Infatuation

• You can't stand being apart for more than 5 minutes
• Every time he grabs your ass your knees get weak
• When she looks at you, you just want to make a baby..lol
• If he doesn't text you right back, he must have been kidnapped by ninjas
• Can't eat because your too excited
• Time just seems to stop whenever your together
• He's the funniest person in the world
• Her farts smell like cinnamon and peppermint
• You wish the days would never end
• Each kiss makes your heart melt

Genuine Connection

• When she looks at you in that way, you can feel it in your soul
• He doesn't have to ask what you want to eat because he already knows
• She doesn't yell when she's upset, but let's you know how she truly feels
• He will fix you chicken soup when your sick instead of playing the Xbox
• Time continues to pass while your together
• A quality back rub with some soft music on a Saturday means the world to you
• When he slaps your ass it still makes your knees quiver a little
• She listens to your long day without interrupting

Makes You All Sweet and Tingly Doesn't It?

  So do you see the picture I'm carving out for ya?  There's a difference between a real connection equaling "Love" and an infatuation that has you all aroused and giddy.  Now, I'm not saying that you can't have a genuine connection with someone that you've just met,  I just merely wanted you to be informed that there is a difference.  

                                                              Now, go forth and be merry..lol
